Lab data
LA Kush Cake potency: THC, CBD and terpenes from 770 lab tests
In 770 state lab tests, LA Kush Cake flower had a median total THC of 25.39%, higher than the median of 40 of the 42 other strains in our dataset with at least 100 tests; the middle half of results fell between 22.57% and 28.31%.1 CBD is negligible, and limonene is the leading terpene, followed by β-caryophyllene and linalool.1

How published THC figures compare
Strain databases publish a single figure or a range: Leafly lists 23% and AllBud 20–24%, while Weedmaps gives 21–29%.2,3,4 Seed sellers advertise 18–20% (Seed Supreme), 20% (ILGM) and 24–32% (Crop King) for their feminized versions.5,6,7 In state lab results the median was 25.39%, above Leafly’s figure and the top of AllBud’s range; one in ten LA Kush Cake flower tests came in under 20.16% THC and one in ten above 29.99%, so ILGM’s 20% sits below nine in ten results, Leafly’s 23% falls inside the middle half and the 32% top of Crop King’s range lies above nine in ten results.1 The highest single result in our data was 36.64%.1
By state, medians ran from 22.15% in Washington (138 tests) to 27.85% in Maryland (47). In every year with at least 100 tests (2021–2023) the yearly median stayed between 24.00% and 27.00%. The 2024 median, 27.63%, rests on only 6 tests. Nevada, Michigan and Washington supply 91.9% of the tests, so differences between states and years mix growers, labs and markets.1

Limits of this data
- Coverage is uneven. Nevada (365), Michigan (205), Washington (138), Maryland (47) supply most of the 770 tests, which date from 2019 to 2024; Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. No single lab accounts for more than 37.0% of these tests (26 labs in total).
- Terpene medians come from 371 tests with individual terpene values, 365 of them (98.4%) from Nevada labs, so the profile is essentially Nevada’s. Maryland reports only total terpenes (46 tests), and Washington and Michigan report none.
- We matched names strictly: crosses and near-miss names (for example “WhiteCloud LA Kush Cake Marijuana/Flower Bud”) are excluded and counted, and duplicate certificates are removed. Spellings with periods (“L.A. Kush Cake”, 51 tests) and bare numbers, which count as lot codes (labels such as “#2”), are inside the sample.
