Key findings
- With a 25.39% median THC, LA Kush Cake ranks 3rd of 52; its 53% rate for the 25% cutoff is also 3rd.1
- At or above 20%, LA Kush Cake registered 92% of flower tests; the corresponding shares were 53% for 25% and 10% for 30%.1
- Published single-number THC claims sat below the lab median: zero of two were above 25.39%; tests were at or above Leafly's 23% in 73% of cases.1,2
- In terpene-tested LA Kush Cake flower, limonene was first in 55%; β-myrcene and β-caryophyllene were first in 22% and 19%.1
- Tests at 27.89% or higher for THC had 2.38% median total terpenes, versus 1.76% for tests at 24.24% or lower.1
- On Oct 4, 2026, Weedmaps showed 166 store listings for LA Kush Cake flower in 18 of 27 tracked markets, enough for 32nd of 58 strains.3
What are LA Kush Cake's THC odds at 20%, 25% and 30%?
For LA Kush Cake, the 20% line was nearly routine: 92% met or cleared it, 53% met or cleared 25%, 10% met or cleared 30%, and the flower median was 25.39%.1
At the state extremes, Maryland had 100% of 47 tests meet or clear 20% with a 27.85% median; Washington had 88% of 138 meet the same line with a 22.15% median.1 The state difference mixes growers, labs and testing rules, so it is not only a plant difference.

Do published THC numbers undershoot LA Kush Cake's labs?
For LA Kush Cake, the outside single THC figures we checked are all below the lab midpoint: zero of the two sit above the 25.39% median.1 The highest single figure, Leafly at 23%, still sat low enough that 73% of tests were at or above it.1,2
The lower single figure, ILGM at 20%, was below most of the file: 92% of tests were at or above it.1,4
The four published ranges split widely: the 21–29% range from Weedmaps contained 70% of tests, while the 18–20% range from Seed Supreme contained 5.1%.1,5,6 These claims are not batch certificates; a jar's certificate of analysis is the batch-level record.

Which terpene leads LA Kush Cake in actual tests?
For LA Kush Cake, the terpene lead is real but not settled: limonene ranked highest in 55% of 371 individual-terpene tests, ahead of β-myrcene at 22% and β-caryophyllene at 19%.1
Leafly names limonene as the dominant terpene, and the file lines up: limonene led 55% of tests.1,2
Nevada dominates the terpene subset: 365 of 371 records with individual terpene results are from Nevada labs.1
| Terpene | Tests where it led | Share of tests |
|---|---|---|
| Limonene | 205 | 55% |
| β-myrcene | 80 | 22% |
| β-caryophyllene | 71 | 19% |
| Linalool | 14 | 3.8% |

Which strain terpene profiles sit closest to LA Kush Cake?
LA Kush Cake has a very close typical terpene overlap with Granddaddy Purple, Ice Cream Cake and Papaya Punch: 96%, 94% and 93%, respectively; Durban Poison is farthest in the comparison of 36 strains at 39%.1
The nearest profiles do not all share the same lead: Granddaddy Purple is led by limonene, Ice Cream Cake by β-caryophyllene and Papaya Punch by limonene; the farthest profile, Durban Poison, is led by terpinolene.1
Method: for each strain, we take median measurements for eight terpenes, convert them to proportions of that strain's terpene subtotal, and score the overlap between two proportion sets; identical mixes score 100. We limit that chemistry match to strains meeting the 30-test terpene-profile minimum. The result compares lab chemistry only; it does not predict how LA Kush Cake feels.
| Strain | Overlap | Lead terpene (by median) | Tests with terpenes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Granddaddy Purple | 96% | Limonene | 55 |
| Ice Cream Cake | 94% | β-caryophyllene | 753 |
| Papaya Punch | 93% | Limonene | 44 |
| Sherbet | 90% | β-caryophyllene | 193 |
| Chemdawg | 89% | β-caryophyllene | 389 |
| Durban Poison (least similar) | 39% | Terpinolene | 236 |

Is LA Kush Cake a top-THC strain in this dataset?
Among qualifying strains, only Blue Cheese sits directly above LA Kush Cake: its 25.39% median places 3rd of 52, with Blue Cheese at 25.93% and Animal Face next below at 24.49%.1 The 25% cutoff tells the same top-third story, because 53% of tests reached it and that share ranks 3rd.1
Its central half runs from 22.57% to 28.31%, a spread of 5.74 points; among 52 strains meeting the 30-test minimum, that places 32nd for narrowness, about average consistency.1

What is the THC spread between LA Kush Cake labs?
Across grower/state mixes represented in the samples, for LA Kush Cake, lab-tested batch groups show a large THC spread: the seven labs meeting the 20-test cutoff ranged by median from Lab F in Washington (21.00%) to Lab B in Michigan (27.85%), a gap of 6.85 points.1
Inside Washington, the three labs still split by 2.40 points, from 21.00% to 23.40%, so not all of the wider gap comes from comparing states.1
Different labs may be seeing different growers' flower, so this spread is not evidence that one lab reads high. This page uses letter labels for labs; Lab A means the largest contributor, and the download includes the real lab names.
| Lab | State | Tests | Median THC | Share at 20% or more |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lab A | Nevada | 285 | 26.62% | 95% |
| Lab B | Michigan | 155 | 27.85% | 92% |
| Lab C | Nevada | 61 | 24.06% | 92% |

How do terpene totals shift in stronger LA Kush Cake flower?
Mostly, yes: higher-THC LA Kush Cake flower also carried more total terpenes in this paired set, with tests at 27.89% or higher at 2.38% median total terpenes versus 1.76% for tests at 24.24% or lower.1
State-level results split: among the two states with at least 30 paired records, only one put the higher-THC group higher on total terpenes (Nevada up and Maryland down); in Nevada, the low-THC third's median was 1.78%, compared with 2.43% for the high-THC third.1 Total terpenes are aroma compounds measured by weight, not an effects measure.
| Tests from | Tests | Lowest-THC third | Highest-THC third |
|---|---|---|---|
| All states | 417 | 1.76% | 2.38% |
| Nevada | 365 | 1.78% | 2.43% |
| Maryland | 46 | 2.35% | 2.13% |

Has LA Kush Cake's median THC moved upward by year?
Yes: using only years with enough tests, LA Kush Cake climbed from a 22.25% median in 2019 (22 tests) to 27.00% in 2023 (277 tests), an overall shift of +4.75 points.1
The same direction appears inside Nevada: 2021's median was 25.48%, and 2023's was 27.18%, for +1.70 points.1
We skip years below 20 tests, so thin years do not set the endpoints.1
| Year | Tests | Median THC |
|---|---|---|
| 2019 | 22 | 22.25% |
| 2021 | 174 | 26.36% |
| 2022 | 267 | 24.00% |
| 2023 | 277 | 27.00% |

What this data cannot tell you
- The lab set is flower labeled LA Kush Cake, drawn from 6 states across 2019–2024; it cannot verify a specific jar, whose certificate of analysis is the batch document.1
- Chemistry measurements can frame the test results, but they cannot predict your personal response to LA Kush Cake.
